This page documents the rules regarding uploading media to the Advent of Ascension Wiki.

Notability[]

All media that is uploaded must be related to Advent of Ascension in some way. It must contain content that can be found in-game, or is a part of a teaser.

Media uploaded should also be useful. If a file is deemed to not be useful, it must be discussed with the community first before it will be deleted by an admin (unless it violates one of the other rules).

Media that do not fit the above criteria in this section will likely be deleted.

Personal media[]

Personal media is not allowed on this wiki at this time. Personal media is defined as any media that is uploaded for the sole purpose of being used on a user page. If a personal file is uploaded, it will be deleted.

Uploading useless media[]

Advent of Ascension Wiki is not a file hosting service. Media uploaded that isn't found a place in an article may be deleted, unless a reason to keep it around is given (this sentence will not apply to media that violates other rules).

Allowed media types[]

The following types of files can be uploaded to the wiki:

  • Image files
    • Allowed formats: png, gif
  • Sound files
    • Allowed formats: ogg
  • Video files
    • Allowed formats: mp4

Other types of files may be upload if community consent is achieved. If consent to upload other file types is not obtained, then the files will be deleted.

File formatting[]

The following formatting rules apply to applications of files as listed below. All media that is uploaded to the wiki must follow the listed rules below if applicable.

File Example Rules
Block images Baron Stone.png The wiki uses isometric renders of Advent of Ascension's blocks to document these blocks on the wiki. All block images should be exactly 300x300 pixels in size, and must have a transparent background, just like the transparent background that is present for the textures in-game. Each file should also have the Category:Block icons added to the file's page (for wiki consistency add the category by copying the following code:<code>{{FileCategorization|type=block}}</code>. If the block is a plant (e.g.: Arcbulb), then the rules for "Item images" row of this table should be used instead to make the image.

Tslat typically handles the making of these images in modern times, but if you must make one yourself, take a look at [mcw:Minecraft Wiki:Standardized_views this] page on the Minecraft Wiki.

Item images Blank Realmstone.png The wiki uses flat images of Advent of Ascension's items to document these items on the wiki. All item images should be exactly 32x32 pixels in size, and must have a transparent background, just like the transparent background that is present for the textures in-game. Each file should also have the Category:Item sprites added to the file's page (for wiki consistency add the category by copying the following code:<code>{{FileCategorization|type=item}}</code>.
Weapon images Amethyst Sword.png
Baronator.png
The wiki uses flat images of Advent of Ascension's weapons to document these items on the wiki. All weapon images should be either:
  • exactly 32x32 pixels in size, only if the weapon's texture in the mod's files is 16x16.
  • exactly 64x64 pixels in size, only if the weapon's texture in the mod's files is 32x32.

All images regardless of size must have a transparent background, just like the transparent background that is present for the textures in-game.

Each file should also have the Category:Item sprites added to the file's page (for wiki consistency add the category by copying the following code:<code>{{FileCategorization|type=item}}</code>.

Armor item images Amethind Helmet.png The wiki uses flat images of Advent of Ascension's armor mitems to document these items on the wiki.
Entity images Cyclops.png The wiki uses (sometimes isometric) renders of Advent of Ascension's entities to document these entities on the wiki. All entity images should be exactly 250x250 pixels in size, and must have a transparent background, just like the transparent background that is present for the textures in-game. Each file should also have the Category:Mob images added to the file's page (for wiki consistency add the category by copying the following code:<code>{{FileCategorization|type=entity}}</code>.

At the moment the wiki does not have all of its mobs as isometric images, but all future images should be made as isometrics in the future. Isometric entity images can be created with the Mineshot mod.

If a mob has an animated texture, or animation, a separate gif of the mob displaying its animation may be uploaded. However, all entities should at minimum have a static png.

Structure and feature images Ruined Teleporter Frame.png The wiki uses a mixture of screenshots and isometric renders of Advent of Ascension's structures and features to document these on the wiki. All structure/features images should be exactly 1000x1000 pixels in size, and must have a transparent background, just like the transparent background that is present for their appearance in-game. Each file should also have the Category:Screenshots added to the file's page (for wiki consistency add the category by copying the following code:<code>{{FileCategorization|type=screenshot}}</code>.

Isometrics can be made with the Mineshot mod.

If an isometric is not available, an in-game screenshot may be used as a substitute until a proper isometric is made.
