Steel Plate is a creative exclusive decorative block.

Obtaining[ | ]

Steel Plates can be mined up with a pickaxe, dropping nothing if not mined with one.

They are a creative mode exclusive block.

Usage[ | ]

Steel Plate Orientations

Six different ways Steel Plates can be placed in the same block. From left to right: one plate, two plates, three plates, four plates, five plates, and six plates. These six combinations are not the only combinations of plates that can be used.

Steel Plates can be placed in six different orientations. The plates can be placed horizontally or vertically. Six Steel Plates are capable of existing in a single block space: four of the plates can be placed vertically on the edges of a single block space, and two more can be placed horizontally on the top and bottom of these four plates.

The orientation the plate is placed depends on which direction the player is facing. Placing the plate against the ceiling will place a top plate, placing it against the ground will place a bottom plate, and placing it against a wall will place a plate parallel to and flushed up against the wall. Trying to place a plate in the space where another plate already exists will place the plate in the same space but in a different orientation.

Trying to break a Steel Plate when multiple are in the same spot will cause all Steel Plates in the same spot to break and drop.

Holding sneak while placing a plate will place a full block of steel. This block of steel only counts as a single plate instead of six, meaning that only one Steel Plate is consumed when placed, and only one is gotten back when broken.
