Staves are weapons that consume Runes.
Overview[]
Staves are a weapon class added by Advent of Ascension. The mod adds 57 Staves for the player to use.
Staves are weapons that can be cast by pressing use, provided that the player has the correct Runes in their inventory. A Staff can be cast while sprinting, and can also be used in the offhand.
Unlike other weapons, Staves are capable of a variety of tasks beyond just dealing damage. These include buffing the player, debuffing mobs, and other effects. However, Runes will generally take up more inventory space compared to other types of ammunition- several Staves will require multiple types of Runes. All Staves can be used up to a rate of 0.83 casts per second.
The projectiles fired by Staves cannot pierce through non-solid blocks other ranged weapons can, this includes blocks like Foliage and liquids.
All Staves are used fully-automatically, which means they will continue to cast if the use button is held down.
Staves that can be used as traditional weapons deal magic damage. Staff projectiles will also ignore mob armor, but will not ignore armor that is worn by other players.

Bolded enchantments are ones added by Advent of Ascension. Any Staves can be enchanted at an Enchantment Table, Anvil, or Infusion Table.
