The Staring Eye is an item used to spawn the boss Elusive.

Obtaining

Block drops

Breaking red Tentacle Eye blocks will have a 5% chance to drop a Staring Eye instead of the Tentacle Eye block itself. This works in a similar manner to Gravel dropping Flint, although Fortune does not affect the chance of obtaining a Staring Eye. Orange Tentacle Eye variants will never drop a Staring Eye.

Usage

Spawning Elusive

The Staring Eye's only use is for spawning Elusive.

When used on an Illusion Altar, Elusive will spawn. This will consume the Staring Eye. If spawned on Peaceful difficulty, Elusive will despawn immediately, so it is important to ensure that the world is not on Peaceful difficulty.
