Shotguns are short-ranged weapons that consume Spreadshots.

Shotguns are a weapon class added by Advent of Ascension. The mod adds 17 Shotguns for the player to use.
Shotguns are weapons that can be fired by pressing use, provided that the player has the correct ammo in their inventory. When held, all Shotguns have an 'unholster time', the player must wait for the 'unholster time' to finish before being able to fire the Shotgun. When firing a Shotgun, the impact from the recoil will cause the player to look up slightly. Shotguns can also be fired while sprinting.
Shotguns fire a burst of inaccurate projectiles, making them most effective at close-ranged combat. The projectiles fired by Shotguns will also despawn after traveling approximately 20 blocks.
While a Shotgun can be held in the offhand, it cannot be fired unless it is enchanted with Brace. When held in the offhand, the player's movement speed is reduced by 35%.
All Shotguns fire semi-automatically, which means the fire button must be manually pressed per shot.
Shotguns deal heavy gun damage.
