Polar Ursas are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.

Spawning[]

Polar Ursas spawn naturally in snowy biomes in the Overworld.

They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.

Behavior[]

Polar Ursas are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.

They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.

Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.

Bestiary Entry[]

A polar member of the Ursa family, these creatures differ surprisingly little from their woodland cousins. Often these are spotted from afar due to their eyes; while they contain the same retinal profile as Black Ursas, their bright white coat accentuates their bright red colouring.

While they are omnivores like all Ursas, due to the environmental challenges of providing flora in snowy areas, Polar Ursa diets comprise of a lot more meat than plants.

Similar to their relatives, they will chase stray creatures and people down for food, as they are rarely satiated.
