Penumbra is one of the bosses of the Ancient Cavern. Penumbra can be challenged by using a Erebon Shrine with 70 Hunter levels and a full Erebon Tribute bar.

Penumbra is a ranged boss that will fire projectiles at the player. Upon hitting a player one of eight different mobs will spawn where the projectile landed:
