Logging | |
---|---|
Logging is a skill themed around chopping down trees. It was removed in 1.16.5-3.6-Public Alpha.
Overview[ | ]
The Logging skill can be trained by getting item drops out of wooden logs. When the player is mining wooden logs, there is a chance for either extra logs or a special item to drop out of the log block. When this happens (except if its an extra log drop), the player will get experience for their Logging skill. As the player's skill level increases, the player will be able to get more special items out of mining log blocks.
The chance that the Logging skill will trigger is dependent on the player's Logging skill level. The higher the level, the greater the chance it will trigger.
The below table gives the chances per log broken that the Logging skill will trigger, per log block broken. When it triggers, there is a 50% chance that it will pick an extra log, and a 50% chance that it will pick an item; thus, the chances for both are equal. Note that it is impossible for the skill to drop both extra logs and a loot item.
Logging Level (inclusive) | Chance for Extra Log(s) | Chance for Item |
---|---|---|
0-19 | 1 in 40 (2.50%) | 1 in 40 (2.50%) |
20-49 | 1 in 32 (3.13%) | 1 in 32 (3.13%) |
40-59 | 1 in 28 (3.57%) | 1 in 28 (3.57%) |
60-79 | 1 in 22 (4.55%) | 1 in 22 (4.55%) |
80+ | 1 in 16 (6.25%) | 1 in 16 (6.25%) |
Extra Log drop[ | ]
If an extra log is selected to drop, the player will receive an extra log of the same type as the log that was mined to trigger the skill. For example, if the skill triggers when mining a Birch Log, a second Birch Log will drop in addition to the first.
If the player's logging level is 50+, an additional log of the same type is dropped; thus, three logs are dropped instead of one.
The amount of XP gained when the player obtains a wood log through logging scales based on the player's level. XP can be calculated using the following formula: (LoggingLevel ^ 1.65) * 3.
Item drop[ | ]
If an item is selected to drop, it will be selected from the following list. XP earned from item drops is constant. Note that when wearing Logging Armor some of the higher-level drops will increase in quantity.
Logging Drop | Amount (With Logging Armor) | Level Requirement | Total XP |
---|---|---|---|
Stick | 1-16 | Lvl 1 | 15 |
Apple | 1-4 | Lvl 1 | 25 |

The amount of tribute points given decreases as the player levels up in logging.
