Merkyres are hostile melee mobs that spawn in Merkyre Towers in Dustopia.
Spawning[]
Merkyre Towers[]
Merkyres will spawn continuously from the 2 Merkyre Spawners generated within each Merkyre Tower.
Their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.
Behavior[]
Merkyres are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.
They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.
Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.
Unique Abilities[]
When a Merkyre is directly attacked (not from environmental sources such as explosions, fire, cactus, etc.), it will release a blinding area-of-effect cloud around it, spanning 1.5 blocks on all sides of the Merkyre, and lasting for 1.5 seconds. The cloud will quickly shrink until it runs out of time before disappearing.
If a creature or player walks into the cloud they will be blinded for 3 seconds.
