Mauls are knockback-based melee weapons. Mauls generally deal higher damage and have far higher knockback than swords and greatblades, but are slower than both. Mauls also have slightly increased melee range (about half a block further than a sword), but cannot deal critical hits. They are still affected by Battle Rage and the Strength effect though. Additionally, Mauls have a chance to disable Shields on hit in the same way Axes can. Mauls deal melee damage.
All Mauls have an attack speed of 0.53.
