Hags are hostile ranged mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.
Spawning[ | ]
Hags spawn naturally in swamp-type biomes in the Overworld.
They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.
Behavior[ | ]
Hags are ranged mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. Like most ranged mobs, they will try quite hard to avoid getting into water, but will do so if necessary. When attacking a target, they will either stand still or slowly follow at a distance while firing projectiles.
While they do try to avoid water, Hags retain their full movement speed if they do go into it. This makes them harder to escape than other mobs.
They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 24 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.
Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.
Unique Abilities[ | ]
When a Hag successfully attacks an entity, it will apply slowness 1 for 6 seconds.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]
“ | Once a peaceful creature, the Hag grew so tired of humans prodding and poking at it, and pulling at its moss-like hair that it now reacts hostilely to any human it sees.
At some point it learnt from Goblins how to harness the magical energies required to produce high-energy projectiles, which it now uses to fire at human targets. |
