This article is about standard guns. For other weapons that deal gun damage, see Shotguns, Snipers, and Cannons.

Guns are ranged weapons that consume Limonite Bullets or Metal Slugs.

Overview[ | ]

Guns are a weapon class added by Advent of Ascension. The mod adds 78 Guns for the player to use.

Guns are weapons that can be fired by pressing use, provided that the player has the correct ammo in their inventory. When held, all guns have an 'unholster time', the player must wait for the 'unholster time' to finish before being able to fire the gun. When firing a gun, the impact from the recoil will cause the player to look up slightly. Guns can also be fired while sprinting. Out of all the weapon classes that deal 'gun damage', standard guns have the highest average DPS, but also have the slowest unholster times.

While a Gun can be held in the offhand, it cannot be fired unless it is enchanted with Brace. When held in the offhand, the player's movement speed is reduced by 35%.

Some Guns fire fully-automatically, which means they will continue to shoot if the fire button is held down, while other Guns fire semi-automatically, which means the fire button must be manually pressed per shot. Semi-automatic Guns generally have slightly higher damage output compared to fully-automatic Guns.

Guns almost always deal gun damage. Gun projectiles only have a chance to deal knockback on hit. This is based on the formula N/10, where N is the firing delay value of the gun. E.G. a gun with a fire rate of 20 has a firing delay of 1, so it would have a 0.1 - or 10% chance to deal knockback. Anything with a fire rate of 2 or lower will always deal knockback.
