Flamewalkers are hostile mobs that spawn in the Nether.
Spawning[ | ]
Flamewalkers spawn naturally in the Nether. They will only spawn in Nether Wastes and Basalt Deltas biomes.
Flamewalkers cannot spawn on Nether Wart Blocks.
They will spawn at all light levels.
Behavior[ | ]
Flamewalkers are aggressive, and will target nearby players and player-owned mobs within 16 blocks of them without provocation. Once a Flamewalker is aggroed to a target, or a player/mob aggroed them, they will continue attempting to attack until the target moves over 10 blocks away.
If a Flamewalker's target gets too close to it, the Flamewalker will attempt to move away from the target both on land and in lava, but will try to avoid water. Flamewalkers are still capable of attacking and pathfinding around obstacles while trying to keep distance from its target.
Flamewalkers will attack by summoning a short-ranged burst of fire particles below its target's feet that travel upward. This is indicated by different particles appearing before the attack rises up and deals damage and sets the target on fire- the attack itself is considered flamethrower damage. The attack is made up of 10 particles, the amount of particles that made contact with the target correlate to how long the fire lasts. E.G. the fire will last 10 seconds if 10 particles make contact - 10 seconds is also the maximum amount of fire time this attack can add to a target. This attack is capable of hitting multiple mobs even if they were not the intended target. Additionally, this attack has a 1 in 10 chance of inflicting Burned I for 30 seconds.
If a Flamewalker is hit with a melee attack, the attacker will take 3 (×1.5) fire recoil damage and be set on fire for 3 seconds. This also has a 1 in 15 chance of inflicting the attacker with Burned I for 30 seconds.
Flamewalkers are immune to any damage types with the properties of fire.
Flamewalkers will take 1 (×0.5) drown damage per tick when making contact with Rain or any block tagged as water.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]
“ | Flamewalkers are aggressive, tormented beings that are more of an elemental than a living creature.
Its skin is molten to the touch, proving far too hot for most creatures to approach - not that anything should be approaching it to begin with. It uses its mastery of heat to generate flame geysers under the feet of its targets, imbuing the flames with small amounts of magic to inflict nasty magical burns and torching its victims. On their own, their slow attack is usually somewhat harmless as long as the victim isn't caught unaware. The real danger occurs when encountered in its commonly-occurring small groups, where the compounded flames offer serious danger to anything they set their targets on. |
