Dunkleosteus are large hostile fish mobs that spawn naturally in Precasia.
Spawning[ | ]
Dunkleosteus spawn naturally in Precasia. They will only spawn in a Precasian Ocean biome at a Y level of 55 or lower.
Dunkleosteus will only spawn in water and on the floor of a body of water.
Like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 0.
Behavior[ | ]
Dunkleosteus are aggressive, and will attack nearby players and player-owned mobs within 32 blocks of them in water without provocation. Once a Dunkleosteus is aggroed to a target, or a player/mob aggroed them, they will continue attempting to attack until the target moves over 64 blocks away. They attack with a basic melee attack.
Dunkleosteus will follow targets in water, and are capable of pathfinding around obstacles. They can fully swim in water, capable of moving in any direction. Dunkleosteus are unable to move or attack if they are outside water.
When a Dunkleosteus is attacking something, it swims faster than its normal swim speed.
Dunkleosteus can only breathe in water, and will begin taking damage if they are brought out of water for more than 120 seconds.
Dunkleosteus have four hitboxes; 3 green ones and one central white one.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]
“ | These enormous aggressive fish inhabit the oceans of Precasia, casually roaming in search of food.
Their general demeanor and body structure appears to indicate somewhat of a relationship to standard sharks, and their heterocercal tail fin does help confirm that theory. While generally found slowly roaming the ocean, they are quick to react and have excellent senses, able to sense and track prey from a long distance. They then utilise this to approach at a deceptively rapid speed, quickly using its strong jaw to inflict a substantial amount of damage in every bite. |
