Deinotheriums are passive animals that spawn naturally in Precasia.

A Deinotherium's hitboxes.

Deinotheriums spawn naturally in Precasia. They will only spawn in Precasian Desert, Precasian Forest, Precasian Savannah, and Precasian Tar Pits biomes.

Behavior[ | ]

Deinotheriums are passive mobs and will not attack, even if provoked. Like most passive animals, hitting one will cause it to panic and run away.

Deinotheriums can be tempted by and will follow players holding Lucalus Leaves. They can also be bred with Lucalus Leaves. Breeding two Deinotheriums together will create a baby Deinotherium.

Deinotheriums will periodically eat blocks considered Leaves. They will seek out leaf blocks within a 5-block radius on the X/Z axis, and a 4-block radius on the Y axis. Once a leaf block is found, a Deinotherium will wander towards it. Once a leaf block is within 5 blocks of the Deinotherium, it will reach out its trunk and 'eat' the leaf block, destroying it. A Deinotherium can only eat a leaf block every 5-10 seconds. If the gamerule mobGriefing is set to false, Deinotheriums will not eat leaves.

Even though Deinotherium is a passive mob, it will deal damage to entities it comes in contact with while panicking, dealing Cramming damage.

Deinotheriums have four hitboxes; 3 green ones and one central white one. The player can attack any of them to do damage, however attacks on the front green one (where Deinotherium's head is) do 25% more damage then attacks on the other hitboxes, and attacks on the back green one (where the back of Deinotherium's body is) do 10% less damage.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]

Calmly roaming the Precasian lands, these quadrupedal animals love nothing more than to live a peaceful life and eat some leaves.

They tend to be found in packs, occasionally with young offspring staying close.

Despite their large size and sturdy frame, they are skittish creatures that often resort to fleeing or just outright panicking when threatened.

They are particularly fond of Lucalus Leaves, seeking them out to eat quite frequently.
