Mobs and items in Advent of Ascension deal different types of damage, with each of those damage types having various attributes and interacting with features in certain ways. Along with using vanilla Minecraft's damage types, the mod adds new damage types.

If an attribute is not listed, it can be assumed that a damage type interacts with a feature in a 'normal' way (affected by armor and the Protection enchantment, deals knockback, is affected by the resistance effect, does not ignore invincibility frames, etc.).

  • Has some properties of a projectile:
  • Is affected by Sharpshot Armor.
  • Creates small smoke particles upon firing. If the weapon's damage value is 20 (♥×10) or higher, some fire particles are additionally created on top of the smoke particles.
  • Is affected by the difficulty setting if dealt by a non-player mob.
  • Does not deal knockback by default. Guns themselves overwrite this by having a chance to deal knockback on hit. This is based on the formula N/10, where N is the firing delay value of the gun.
  • Ignores invincibility frames.
