Fishing Cage[]
Chum can be caught by a Fishing Cage.
Abilities[]
Chum can be obtained from fishing via the Hauling Resupply ability.
Usage[]
Food[]
Chum can be eaten by the player as food. When eaten, it inflicts Nausea and Poison.
Chum can also be fed to a tamed Cat, healing them for 2 (×1) health. Additionally, using Chum on a baby Cat or Ocelot will make them grow up faster by 10% of the remaining time.
Fish food[]
Chum can be used to throw a bunch of chum particles. If the player is aiming at water, there is a chance that a fish will spawn. The fish that can spawn depends on the biome the player is in, and is the same kind of fishes that the player could get if the player were fishing using Hauling rods. See the list on the Hauling rods page for a list of biomes that Advent of Ascension adds custom fish loot tables to.
In the event that the above mentioned fish loot tables chooses an item instead of a fish, instead of giving that item, the game will instead spawn one of the following, with the chance to spawn each shown:
Mob | Chance to spawn |
---|---|
Dolphin | 1.5% |
Squid | 1.76% |
Pufferfish | 15.15% |
Cod | 22.73% |
Salmon | 22.73% |
Tropical Fish | 30.3% |
