Bush Babies are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.

Spawning[ | ]

Bush Babies spawn naturally in the Overworld. They will only spawn in biomes tagged as minecraft:is_jungle at a Y level of 65 or higher.

Unlike other mobs, Bush Babies can additionally spawn on Leaf Blocks.

They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 0.

Bush Babies can also be spawned by a Leafy Giant.

Behavior[ | ]

Bush Babies are aggressive, and will attack nearby players and player-owned mobs within 8 blocks of them without provocation. Once a Bush Baby is aggroed to a target, or a player/mob aggroed them, they will continue attempting to attack until the target moves over 10 blocks away. They attack with a basic melee attack.

Bush Babies will follow targets both on land and in water, and are capable of pathfinding around obstacles.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]

If you were to describe what happens when you combine a Furby with a slime before jamming it full of leaves and throwing it on its head, you'd give Bush Babies at a shining example.

These deceptively short creatures appear as though they would hang around high-density jungles and trees, preferring to use their appearance to blend into nearby leaves and shrubs. Normally they are only found around jungles or jungle-esque areas, but they have also been seen around Leafy Giants specifically, but it is unsure whether this is coincidental or if there is some kind of relationship involved.

Despite their short stature, they are incredibly fast on their feet, and love using this to their advantage to be a general nuisance to who-ever they feel like. Avoid them entirely until you are ready to defend yourself from a pack of these impish nightmares.
