The Cyclops are a hostile mobs that can be found prowling in the Overworld during the day, at the surface. Their attack style is similar to that of a zombie, which is to walk towards the player and hitting them for small damage.

Spawning

Cyclops spawn naturally in the Overworld, in Plains, Forest, and Extreme Hills biomes, in groups of up to 4. They will only ever spawn on grass blocks, dirt or stone, and can spawn at any light level. They despawn on Peaceful difficulty.

Behavior

Cyclops walk aimlessly when idle, but rush to the nearest player within 16 blocks radius. They move slower than the player's walking speed. They are somewhat resistant to knockback. They'll fight back against other mobs that hit them either on purpose or accidentally.

They have a sight range of 16 blocks, and will chase after the nearest player within this radius. They cannot pathfind, and will always try to go straight for the player. They cannot pass through 2 block high spaces similar to Wither Skeleton.

Drops

Cyclops have no unique drops except vanilla experience.

Bestiary Entry

An otherworldly creature, no-one is really sure where Cyclops originate from. What is known is that they can be found nearly anywhere, and aren't afraid to make their presence known.

They will attack at will, motioning very similarly to what you would expect from a human. There are currently no known instances of communication with a Cyclops, so it is recommended just to avoid them where possible.
